Prescribing for Menopausal Symptoms post Breast Cancer

Menopausal symptoms can be troublesome at the best of times. For patients who are either on endocrine treatment after breast cancer or have a history of breast cancer then this is especially so.

If you are concerned about prescribing HRT in these scenarios then we would suggest;

1. If on active treatment, that the patient makes contact with her Breast Care Specialist Nurse to discuss her symptoms. We run a treatment induced symptoms clinic to deal with these issues.

2. Follow this link to the British Menopause Society's prescribable alternatives to HRT.

3. Contact the breast unit via advice and guidance for further advise.
